Wrapping Up !!!

So hey guys this is my last post for class as the course is officially over but dont worry ill still be hear sharing as much as i can jus the same.. however today's post is just gna be abt my experience and the two fantastic field trips i went on can i say very interesting !!!
Anyway overall i gtta say this was a very fun, helpful and interesting course i learned alot and it enabled me to believe that these dreams i hav are more than dreams that can be made into reality if i try and go about it the right way.. so big up to my lecturer Gerry for that your advise and motivation was well received that will come in handy as not only is this course officially over but so is my uwi life as this is the completion of my final year as well so those tip will definitely be exercised !!!.... & those speakers that were brought to class will definitely be in my network you won't see or hear me waiting around for someone to give me opportunity i'll be creating it for my self.

Anyway about those field trips, they were good we went to the stock exchange and the bob Marley museum both places that i've never visited so i was excited... i learned alot at the stock exchange and found another means of creating capital for my self the visit and lecture we got was informative and it taught me alot as well as it enabled me to understand exactly what was being said whenever that segment would come on in the news as well as it taught me what to look at and focus on when purchasing stock so i think in a few yeas time when i build up my capital that shall be a venture i will embark on maybe sooner than later too :)
&&& now the Bob Marley museum this was the last field trip as well as the class so it was a bit extra special i learnt so much about the legend and our culture it was very interesting and fun our tour guide was awesome and the surroundings and exhibition was beautiful !!!! the little session after was really fun too the speakers was interesting and shared valuable lessons as all the speakers that Gerry gets to talk to us !!
so overall i gtta say this was a awesome class i wud recommend anyone to do this because your not jus learning about a course you are learning life lessons !!! it was a good semester even with all the work no regrets here :)

hey guys Life is so unpredictable i guess that is why they say expect the unexpected.Sometimes what we care about the most gets all used up or goes away, never to return. sometimes we never get a chance to say goodbye or i love you. life is so precious and yet so short. So Guys today we are talking abt a elevator pitch this is an important technique to grasp as it can be the cause of investments and making your busy a reality.

so what is an elevator pitch ??

is a short summary used to quickly and simply define a person, profession, product, service, organization or event and its value proposition

The name elevator pitch reflects the idea that it should be possible to deliver the summary in the time span of an elevator ride, or approximately thirty seconds to two minutes. The term itself comes from a scenario of an accidental meeting with someone important in the elevator. If the conversation inside the elevator in those few seconds is interesting and value adding, the conversation will continue after the elevator ride or end in exchange of business card or a scheduled meeting.

We Believe what we tell Ourselves

Hey guys whats up ?? how are you guys doing today i hope all is well!! firstly just wanna say thanks and give praises to God for enabling us to see another day and to gain new opportunites.
 getting down to the matter as the topic says "we believe what we tell ourselves" yups this is true in my opinion as i think that the mind and the brain or better yet the heart as a dialectic type of relationship we need one to balance out the other this could be refer to as a reciprocity relationship as well.. so if we say we can and we keep on telling ourselves that then not only will we believe but it will also come true if we dig deep and push ourselves and BELIEVE there is nothing in this world that can be impossible after all what the heart conceives the mind can achieve.

as so keep these few quotes in mind i think they hold great meaning !!

* Hold on to what’s important. Let your worries go. No matter how you look at it, some things just don’t make sense. The way you choose to carry on is what matters.

Everyone Has Their Own Story . A Reason Why They Are The Way They Are. You Have No Right To Judge Someone You Don't Know. For All You Know Today Could Be Their Last Day To Live !!!

Hey Guys whats up ?? hope your ok & all is well.... today we spending a little time on presentation which can be looked at from different angles and used in various ways but lets just say presentation of life !!! as the saying goes you can't judge a book by its cover this can be interpret in several ways depending on how you look at it but in my opinion i don't think we have the right to just judge people one needs to get to the person because what is given off in terms of attitude or personality may depend on the people they are dealing with or the day they are having not saying its an excuse but each day we get up we have no clue what the day will bring its unpredictable and we all have different ways of dealing with it. So basically You have two choices when you wake up in the morning: either go back to sleep and dream, or wake up and chase that dream you gotta choose but remember nothing in life is easy & every path has bumps that will help you along the way when you over come them.so take the time out to get to know the person because you may be surprise how much alike you guys are & how you would have reacted the same way if you where in the same situation but even with all of this bear in mind that At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what others think as long as you’re happy. && those out there just casting judgements and being hateful think about it & remember Before you try changing others just remember how hard it is to change your self . On that note guys i leave you with this thought: “Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” You may lose the people you love. 1. Work on you communication skills: To be a successful entrepreneur you need to know the knack of communicating according to your clients. You will be finding various types of clients and putting things across as per your clients and their ability to get what you wanted out of them is entirely different and dependant on the use of your linguistic skills. This is not the place to show off your linguistic knowledge, but being prudent is more important than showing your class. Thus, communication skills are different from linguistic knowledge skills.

2. Do your maths: To be a successful entrepreneur you need to know how to do your maths successfully and efficiently keep track of your accounts and be capable of finding out, if your employers are doing any scandals. This is important that you know how to check your accounts, and will not require accounting skills, but only simple arithmetic skills. In fact, this is what is going to help you to initiate your business.

3. Computer literacy is a necessity and not a must: This is much more important that you had better be a computer literate and know how to keep track of your employers and you take the responsibility of providing the necessary permissions, set limitations on accessibility to your employers. This should be the boss who will be saying the final GO! On your advertisement or the marketing, and this will require computer literacy.

4. Learn practically and not theoretically: Every business has its own nuances and knacks, which will not come with a mere business degree unless you get some hands-on experience. Nevertheless, the business degree is only a prelude.

5. Learn from your competitors: Your competent companies and firms are not your enemies and if they win the contract, be friendlier and learn from their success lesson and turn your failures into success the next time.

Never lose the fire in the belly: This is something that every business entrepreneur should nurture into your business, as having the right mindset to do your business is much more important, and not losing him or her is even more of a compulsory requirement. Always try to think differently or be simply unique.

7. Focus on your strengths and work on your weakness: The small business strategy is to exemplify your strengths and turn you weakness into strengths and underplay as and when required.

Life & Its Cycle !! -- Unpredictable & testing !!!

Hey Guys whats up ?? Hope all is well !!!
Well Today is another day to take charge and make a difference in someway or the other right. well this time around just gonna focus on life and talk about it in general .
For life the more difficulties one has to encounter, within and without, the more significant and the higher in inspiration his or her life will be. Life has no smooth roads for any of us (so dnt look for it, anything that comes easily goes easily work for what you wish to have) and in the bracing atmosphere of a high aim the very roughness stimulates the climber to have or develop steadier steps till the legend, over steep ways to the stars, fulfills itself. fall seven times but make sure you stand up eight. nothing of worth comes easy in life as said before, but with the help of God we can. its like the communication cycle with the least bit of noise something can go wrong so with the life cycle with the least bit of doubt and disbelief nothing will happen you will remain stagnant so rise about the shyness and believe in your self make things happen don't wait for it to happen cease the moment after all YOLO -- > you only live once & Only God Can Judge Me !!!

just wanna give a little motivation as exams (mid semesters) are approaching and for those of us that works it might be a major project or something getting you down.

so just do your best because only it is good enough seek support and offer your help but at the end of the day don't allow any one to take advantage of you and don't focus on the past if you were once wronged. remember "the company can't function properly if there is a problem with the communication process and no solutions is found to rectify it" #just saying... you can therefore use this in terms of your life you'll probably understand it better.in other words "Don't let the past steal your present" just trust God and have faith

Hey everyone whats up? i hope everyone had a good day today and is looking forward to a great weekend :)
 so today's issue is Business plan which is just as fundamental as the business model as it also creates the foundation of a business and is usually one of the strategies or techniques a successful entrepreneur has.

So one may ask ... what is a business plan ??
                                                                    well a business plan is the written document that details a proposed or existing venture. it seeks to capture the vision, current status, expected needs, define markets and projected results of the business. A business plan tells the entrepreneur's story by describing the purpose , basis, reason and future of the venture.
There are several features of a good business plan : 
* Clear *Error Free *Concise *Realistic *Convincing *Sequential (systematic).
as well as there are several elements of business, these include:
*executive summary *History or background *Mission Statement *Goals and objectives *Keys to success *Financing requirements.
it must be noted that the executive summary, is the most important of the elements it is founded at the front of the plan but actually it is the last thing that is written.
there are other  elements of the business such as *product/service description *Market Analysis * Marketing strategies and *operations. the next important element is the mission statement - is the declaration of what the business aspires to be.
with this individuals usually set goals.. characteristics of setting goals includes: * task oriented *futuristic * specific and * challenging one also has to set up objectives and this is usually done by following:

S- specific

M- measurable

A-accurate

R- realistic

T- timely

Building Or Buying !!!

Hey Everyone  !! passing through to drop some knowledge in your reach, as the title suggest its about building or buying a business , as it will be on of the decisions we all will face on our pursuit towards entrepreneurship but before that there is  a quote i would like to share with you that i received from my lecturer.

so lets evaluate the building or buying a business. there are advantages to buying a business like there will already be a certain foundation stuff there for example customers suppliers, staff etc but on the other hand it leaves you developing a brand that was not necessarily the way you envisioned as well as there is an expectation that the customers have so it might be harder to create changes and getting them to accept it and try it out. however if this is the approach you choose there are certain things one needs to make sure of:

- why is it being sold

- is it really my right fit. is it what i want ?

- checkout its statistics and standings, save yourself any surprises

- research competitors 

also one has to check the operation of the business, the:

- Sales

- Costs

- Profits

- Assets

- Staff

with all this done if it is what you want go make your move and start your journey to success putting on your entrepreneur hat !!:) on that note ill leave you with 3 more attributes of a successful entrepreneur:

What is a business model ?? ... the official meaning is A business model describes the rationale of how an organization creates, delivers, and captures value. in other words its the foundation of the business and it serves as a guide and plan that pushes the business towards success.

The Business Model Has 4 elements. these includes:

*THE FOUNDATION ELEMENT - Customer Value Proposition (CVP)

a company can only become successful when it creates customer value.

*THE PROFIT FORMULA

showing how the company creates value for itself while delivering customer value and this has four parts:

1. Revenue model: price x volume

2. Cost structure:

a. driven by costs of key resources

b. components to consider

 i. direct costs

 ii. indirect costs

 iii. economies of scale

 3. Margin model: Contribution needed from each transaction to achieve desired profits

 4. Resource velocity: Required turnover of inventory, fixed (and other) assets {+ Efficiency in utilizing resources to support expected volume and achieve anticipated profits}

* KEY RESOURCES

Main Assets: people, technology, products, facilities, equipment, channels, brand

* KEY PROCESSES

The sequence(s) of operational and managerial steps required to deliver value. this may also include (but not limited to): training, budgeting, planning, sales, service delivery.Also includes: corporate rules, norms, metrics, etc.

all these elements work together they are interlocked and they create and deliver value they can be seen as the building blocks of any business.
Customer Value Proposition & Profit Formula: Define value for customer & company respectively
Key Resources & Key Processes: Define how the value is delivered to both.

What Is Entrepreneurship All About ?

Hey Guys Whats up ?? Hope all is well been a minute since I've been by huh ?? anyway lets get into it today i wanna focus on some of the details that is involved in entrepreneurship. when we hear that word the first thing that comes to mind is "someone owning their own business" which in fact is true and is exactly just that but one needs to remember in doing so it entails alot and it is quite a big risk in one of classes we had a guest who did a presentation just to highlight important aspects of entrepreneurship and i remember he said "U HAVE TO DO IT FOR LOVE" and this is so true yea you wanna make money and yes you want your business to be successful but in order for this to happen you also have to have that passion and drive that will always encourage you to go forward!

Welcome To Progress !! ;)

So i'm Shadaine but they call me Shads and i'm starting my blog, I've always known that communication is one of the most important aspects of life as it is the reasons why relationships in our life works and last. Well in this course i am currently doing i'm learning how to entangle both the communication skills and the entrepreneurial skills so as to create and maintain a successful business. I have always envisioned starting my own business and bring to life this dream i have always had, as so i see it fit to use this medium to share insights about what i will be learning as it maybe beneficial to all those budding entrepreneurs out there, I Haven't had alot of experience doing this so i'll try my best to make it interesting, fun and as real as possible - representing my personality. this blog however about the general life and all possible aspects of it, i'll use my surroundings and the experiences and situations i see around me as examples and to re-enforce the points or topics which i use in each of my blogs so as to not limit myself but while doing this i will include the different concepts that i have been thought in my classes, not loosing focus.
Having Established this the first thing i would like to share with you guys is the meaning of some key terms that will definitely come in handy as the time passes by.These include the  meaning of entrepreneur, which  is one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise. and the meaning of communication, which is information transmitted or conveyed. with this ill share three (3) attributes to a successful entrepreneur with you:

*Innovative
*Team-Oriented
Keep these in mind as we move forward on our Journey of Entrepreneurship :)
